Alzheimer's disease currently relies primarily on therapies that aim to alleviate the symptoms associated with the disease, for example by influencing patients' acetylcholine levels through appropriate medication. This is not ideal: it slows down the progression of the disease, but does not stop it completely. Researchers are therefore still looking for more treatments for Alzheimer's disease: what might the future bring?
