After neck and throat surgery, adequate nutrition is important to promote healing, tissue regeneration and minimise the risk of complications. Initially, intragastric or enteral nutrition in the form of ready-made industrial diets is used, followed by a gradual introduction of an oral diet: first liquids, then slurries and soft foods, until a return to standard meals. Easily digestible foods, lean meat and fish, mashed fruit and cooked vegetables are recommended, avoiding raw, fatty, spicy and hard foods. The recovery time and gradual expansion of the diet depend on the patient's condition.
