Aggression, is defined by psychologists as a specific behaviour that is directed towards causing physical and/or psychological harm to another person.
Research and observations into the causes and mechanisms of aggressive behaviour are ongoing. It is worth mentioning here that different types of aggression can be distinguished, such as deferred, self-aggressive, hostile, pro-social or instrumental aggression.
There is an ongoing debate and research on whether we inherit aggression. There are very different views on this subject, with research into the biological basis of aggression taking into account, among other things, the influence of various biological factors, genes, hormones and neurotransmitters. It is a very complex process that takes place differently in each person.
